Volcom are a brand with a proud 30 plus year history, its origins can be traced back to the Lake Tahoe snow dumps of March 1991. Richard Woolcott and Tucker Hall set off on a journey that would forever change their lives, after more than a week of waking up to two feet of fresh snow they developed an obsession. During this life altering period (trust us, once you’ve had a true powder experience, you’ll know the feeling too) they had talked about starting a clothing company, from that conversation Volcom was born. The idea was simple, start a clothing brand based around the sports they love (snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing) and with $5000 they started the journey toward becoming the iconic brand Volcom is today.
